HP AMCS – Automatic Membranes Conservation System

From 1.250,00

AMCS prevents bacterial growth in the membranes when the unit is not in use.
Using AMCS is significantly more effective and safer than occasionally flushing the membranes with water.
Two modes:
Automatic mode – automatic injection of preservative (sodium metabisulfite — the same sterilizing agent used in wine production) after each water production cycle.
Manual mode – manual dosing of preservative to protect the membranes during extended periods when the watermaker is not in use
AMCS can only be installed on watermakers equipped with RP Tronic – the automatic pressure regulation module.

Description

The membrane is the main part of the unit through which seawater flows, as well as all of the freshwater produced for use, so it is essential that it remains in proper condition, clean, and free of unpleasant odors.

If the membranes are not flushed after use, seawater remains inside them, causing unpleasant odors due to the presence of various organic compounds that are naturally found in seawater.

In 1997, the watermaker manufacturer HP Watermakers patented the AMCS system, which automatically injects a preservative into the membranes at the end of water production: sodium metabisulfite (the same sterilizing agent used in wine production).

Using AMCS is significantly more effective and safer than occasionally flushing the membranes with water.

The AMCS module is installed next to the watermaker and can be set to either automatic or manual mode.

Automatic mode – automatic injection of preservative after each water production cycle.
Manual mode – manual dosing of preservative to protect the membranes during extended periods when the watermaker is not in use.

The AMCS module can only be installed on watermakers equipped with RP Tronic – the automatic pressure regulation module.

WHAT DOES A BACTERIA-AFFECTED MEMBRANE LOOK LIKE?
When a watermaker is not used for some time, bacterial colonies can quickly develop on the membrane surface. These bacterial deposits cause membrane clogging, which leads to a reduction in water production. That is why it is very important that the membranes are properly flushed and preserved.
